My new job has a brought a lot of change to my news-reader profile. I have adapted my feeds (rss) to have more focus on the semiconductor industry. I have unsubscribe from most of the nanotechnology feeds I used to read. For those wondering, over-fed it may be, the only feed I am following regarding nanotechnology is AtoZ of Nanotechnology. It also suffers from chronic crappy design adopted by most of similar websites. Thank god for rss feeds, and content only browsing (sounds like the same thing).
And as for the new feeds I have started to join, they are mostly broad-scope semiconductors market oriented. However, some of them have a more focus on LED technologies, III/V compounds processing, etc.
Anyway, the reason of the above explanation is to give you a hint that sometimes you might see some recaps by me of some news or other interesting stuff coming from those feeds.
And yes, here is the first one; The article was about the current economic crisis and how it will affect the semiconductors industry in the coming years. Unlike many who compare the situation to the Big Depression, the article is focused on more downturns and making a fair comparison of factors the expected downturn, they claim, will not be worse than the recession during the 2001 bursting of the dot-com bubble era. BTW, Salon.com was among many predicting that.
