Teardrop

Bristol'ün büyüklerinden Massive Attack'in Teardrop'unu çalıyorlardı.

Priceless

Hello Me, Meet the Other Me! A Dialogue

Foreman & Chase
----------------------------------
DO YOU THINK... I'M BORING?

YES.

YOU'RE SAYING THAT
JUST TO SCREW WITH ME.

YEAH.
WHY WOULD YOU EXPECT
ANYTHING ELSE?

I EXPECT HOUSE TO PULL
MY STRINGS.
I EXPECT CAMERON
TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER.
I EXPECT THE NEW TEAM
TO KISS MY ASS.
AND I EXPECT YOU TO BE HONEST,
'CAUSE YOU DON'T GIVE
A CRAP.

YES, YOU'RE BORING.
THAT SPEECH WAS BORING.

THANKS SO MUCH.

YOU DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE'S
PROBLEMS AFFECT YOU.
YOU DON'T LET YOUR OWN
PROBLEMS AFFECT YOU.

AND IT'S THE SCREW-UPS
THAT MAKE US INTERESTING.
YOU'RE NEVER OUT OF CONTROL.

WHICH IS GOOD, AND...
BORING.

NEVER LOSING CONTROL
ALSO MEANS
YOU'RE NEVER PUTTING YOURSELF
OUT THERE.
NEVER PUSHING YOUR LIMITS.

ON THE OTHER HAND,
YOU DO HAVE A TATTOO, SO...
MAYBE I'M WRONG.
----------------------------------

I will write deeper on this.

Demir yumruk referanslı şarkımız ise şu adresten dinlenebilir gün itibari ile;

Sözlerini de yazayım tam olsun. İşte G'n'R - Chinese Democracy şarkı sözleri;

It don't really matter
You'll find out for yourself
No, it don't really matter
You're gonna leave this thing to
somebody else
You think we're missionaries
Real time visionaries
Sitting in a Chinese stew
To view my dis-infatu-ation

I know that I'm a classic case
Watch my disenchanted face
Blame it on a Falun Gong
They see the end and it can't hold on, now

Cause it would take a lot more hate than you
To stop from fascination
Even with your iron fist
Our baby got to rule the nation

But all I got
is precious time

It don't really matter
You're gonna find out for yourself
No, it don't really matter
I guess you'll do this thing to
somebody else

'Cause it would take a lot more time than you
I've got more masturbation
Even with your iron fist
Our baby got to rule the nation
but all I got
is precious time
Our baby got to rule the nation
but all I got
is precious time

It don't really matter
Gonna keep it to myself
No, it don't really matter
So you can hear it now from
somebody else

You think you got it all locked up inside
And if you beat them all up they'll die

And then you'll walk them home for themselves
Then now you'll dig for your rose back in hell
As if your eyes were your ass you can tell

In another time

Aachen Times and the Bad Times | Geleceke Mektuplar IV

21 days add up to 3 weeks. The three weeks I spent in Aachen. Not knowing a single soul. It was good though. Now that I am on a plane leaving Aachen for 10 days, I actually am looking forward to get back. No, the city is not entertaining, or gorgeous, or anything especially attracting. However it makes me sniff my future. What lies ahead of me…

I am looking forward to starting to work. I really am. It’s not the money, nor any other bonus you might think of. It is just that working will set me free. Arbeit macht frei. Maybe not now, but it will.

But of course, that’s not enough to tell you about what I was up to in Aachen for those three weeks. I will assume that you don’t know a jack but the job thing that I will be starting in mid October.

So I had to go to Aachen, fix my permits, find an apartment, arrange things and learn how to get around. Not wanting to rent a place without seeing it, I decided find a temporary place for September, and look for apartments on site. Having randomly messaged a lot of Turkish people on Facebook, I was able to find a place for a month, albeit the ridiculously high price (370€ for 25m^2 room in Aachen, bloody funny).  I picked the keys up in Istanbul and went on to Aachen!

There, one of the first things I did was to look for a permanent apartment along with the dealing with work permit (I still can not believe this story with the permit will take this long! argh!). I believe, at this point I have to introduce the German WG notion to those of you who are not familiar with it. ……

Another thing I wanted to do was to improve my German. During the interview, I have also mentioned this to my current boss, and he said that wouldn’t be necessary, however it would be pretty stupid to live in Germany and not to learn German. So I went to the VHS office in Aachen, took a test so that I could be assigned to a course on my level. Twice a week, Level II for fast-learners; that’s the course for me. There is no socializing among anyone, unlike had last year .in Reutlingen. I believe that was mainly thanks to the great teacher Daniella, taking us to café’s and stuff. I will try to invite people to an after-hours drink next time we have a course! .And I have three (3) reasons for that! Moreover, I am planning to start a Chinese course next February!

The Land of the Three…………… crowns | Geleceke Mektuplar III

Oh Stockholm! In a sentence praising thee, words turn into nymphs, seducing me. The Sirens sing thy decree, as Apollo chase thee, oh Stockholm.

Together we were for a single summer’s time, yet thou hath left me with a yearning that shall live a life time, a life time of mine.

This much pretencious literature overdose should do you good for 3 months at least. I promise to give you another fix before that just keep you warm and fuzzy inside. (I don’t even know what I’m talking about.)

So, there I am, booking a flight to Stockholm for a short trip to the German Embassy  there. The date of the outward journey is 15th of September, 2008. The day I had left Stockholm, after a 3-month stay was 14th of September in 2007. It felt like I was en route to complete something I had left unfinished, going back the next day I left; as a physicist I can assume 3 years is a negligible amount of time. Is it a twist of fate or just coincidence; we will never know… Well, I do already, but someone suggested me too add some mystery into my articles.

It was a Sunday evening when I arrived in Stockholm. I needed a place to sleep, and Facebook had taken care of that. I met up with Arzu and she took me to the place she stayed, a shared apartment owned by a weird old guy –who reminded me of someone in a disturbing way. Albeit, she was to leave for Istanbul early in the next morning, we found the little chit chat better than sleeping (at least I did) and stayed up till 2a.m. or so.

The next day after I am finished at the Embassy I took off and decided to use my time until the flight in the evening wandering the streets I used to wander. I took photos that are copies of some photos, which I have taken 3 years ago; same places, same angles.[coming soon to this blog] I have also paid a visit to the Science Fiction BokHandeln and bough the Asimov’s second book in Foundation series. I am looking forward to start as soon as I am done with Palahniuk’s “The Haunted”. I also bought the new Paradise Lost DVD; The Anatomy of Melancholy at Drottningsgatan, where I remember buying Paradise Lost’s self titled album while it was released back in 2005.

On the long way to the Nyköping Airport (RyanAir does not fly to Arlanda L ) a nice Swedish lady in her 30s sat next to me. Traveling with her husband and parents-in-law, she shared a lot of nice stories. Those, I will tell later; I have to go check-in to my flight to Istanbul now. (It is now 3pm, and I am sitting at the dining hall of the Brussel’s Airport. Below; the view)

PS. Arzu ve Erkin'e çok teşekkürler :)

Point Taken | Geleceke Mektuplar II

Spoiler Alert à

Point I am going to make: I have an amazing life.

ßSpoiler Alert

This Thalys trains are really cool. I rode one last year with my lovely ex-girlfriend on our way to a memorable trip in Paris from Amsterdam. And now I am on one, from Aix la Chapelle (a fancy way to say Aachen) to Brussels and we have just stopped at Leuven, a small town in Belgium hosting the oldest university in Europe.

Leuven

It is such a lovely place, very cute indeed. I stayed here two days while visiting for a job interview at IMEC and honestly I believe it would have been THE town to live for a year or so as a student. It has a great atmosphere, and does seem a lot of fun!

Having gotten all these small memories I just felt I will have a lot of things to tell my kids; a lot of stories, a lot of life lessons. I am looking forward to it.

Also, I would also like my buddy to have a family and live close to where I will. Honestly, I believe the most important thing he will be giving to his kids will be his genes (artistic kid). So they will need a source for the stories and for fun of courseJ.

I also have a plan B for this. If he fails to settle down, I will move to USA (if I had not already) and be neighbors to Açar Family, assuming they will be able to squeeze one out by then. Good luck!

Confessions | Geleceke Mektuplar I

I know what keeps you awake at night! And, no; I am not going to suggest a solution for those nasty mosquitoes.

However, I will be making it easier for you to fall asleep thanks to the cute little stories I have. Keep a tissue closeby, since my love for Turkey, Germans and bureaucracy is surely going to make you cry.

Those of you who are stalking, me would know that, among many dirty little things only stalkers look forward to know, that I returned back to Turkey after finishing my studies in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was going to be a stay -or a vacation one might call- without a definite duration. Basically, I was out of school, with no job at hand, not having a single clue where the future would take me. Hence, I tried to ignore the fact that I hate Turkey, its people, its corrupt ways and the yet again self righteous hypocrisy of its people. They do deserve a second mentioning.

Well, let’s get back to me being back in Turkey after having a great time in Gothenburg (courtesy of Samuel & Justin and Gibraltargatan Gençleri). Well, the worst case was me staying jobless until February and go back to Sweden just before my residence permit expires to continue with a PhD in Sweden. Being a bit business oriented, this would be something I would have hated. And honestly, I would be doing anything to get out of it, even Justin!

Well thanks to the G-man, I received a phone a call while I was in Italy having a fancy summer vacation with a very lovely friend. Well, that was my mom [not the fine young lady, the person calling me on the phone], asking me if I knew where her credit cards were. But this is not the subject here. The same day, I received an email; I was offered a job! Yay! The traveling job that got me all wet inside (honestly, this metaphor doesn’t sound that good when the person is male!)! Quoting Justin; “Boy, I would leave my current job, and quit my sex change hormone therapy sessions to get this job!”. Yes baby I am that good.

I know, you are thinking that I have totally lost the plot here. No, that’s not the case; I can derive reasons for hating Turkey from almost anything, except for the food, it' delicious there (even the Italian food is better in Turkey). The job I will be doing comes in with a nice payment, 30 off-days, and with a lot of experience to get while traveling worldwide. However in any job you would have as a starter in Turkey, unless you are VERY lucky and accepting to be slaved, you’ll get 1/5 of what I will be making and you will have a week off in the first year, again, if you are lucky! [post read note: seems like I was showing off]

I think that is enough whipping for Turkey. Considering the fact that I am now typing this in a 1st class seat[explained at the very end] of a Thalys train from Aachen (Aix La Chapelle) to Brussels, where I will eventually board a plane to Istanbul, more whipping would be inappropriate. After the trip, probably some more spanking to Turks will follow.

Now it is time for the AuslaenderLoving* Germans. So, there I am, in Aachen, in the foreigners’ office planning to apply for a work permit/residence. It turns out, if you do not have a visa from Germany (I was using my residence permit from Sweden) you can not apply for a work/residence permit IN Germany. They told me to go to the German Embassy in Stockholm! Well, this was not a story I was hearing for the first time. However, last time, when the same things happened while trying to get a work/residence permit for the internship I did at Bosch. That time tough guys at Bosch HR called the foreigners’ office and they issued me a permit in 5 days! Kudos to Robert Bosch. Well, apparently the new company is not as strong in that department, but I know in which department they will be stronger!!! Well after a few curse words I booked a plane to Stockholm, and went to the German Embassy, where all they did was to take my documents and some money and post them to Aachen! Bloody hell!! Guess what; I will have to travel again to Stockholm to pick the permit up!!! I demand a major tax cut you HansLand!

Wow, that wine was very nice. Boy it is expensive but traveling 1st class is really sweet!

PS: First class is not really my choice, the Germans have been fleeing the country and the 2nd Class was fully booked! Apparently they have declared the week I am away a public holiday. How thoughtful.

Geleceke Mektuplar

The title is Turkish for "Mails for the Future".  In this post, I announce some coming blog posts that are actually mails for the future.

Some people write those mails to be opened on some date in the future. ome of them are about the authors' vision of the future, or some assholes -albeit being dead- might try to patronize you through those emails by commanding you to be the generation they want you to be. You open that old enevelope with the mail waiting to be  read inside and all you get is some preaching...

No, I would never do that to you! Actually, I can't even think of any situation -other than my death- that  would want to write something to be read in the future. The thing is, 10 days ago, I wrote some stuff while traveling without a wifi and I had been really lazy to post them up until now. They were not even meant to be read in the future, you just get to read them in the relative future, which will be the relative past by the time you read them, but it still is the future... Confused? Think about it!
